Everything you need to know about Intero, AI for workplace safety, and how to get started.
About Intero
What is Intero?
Intero is an AI-native safety platform for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) teams. It uses conversational AI to capture incidents, investigate root causes, manage corrective actions, and detect patterns, replacing fragmented safety tools with one intelligent system.
How does Intero work?
Intero runs a continuous intelligence loop: See (capture events via plain language and photos), Enforce (AI investigates, classifies risk, and generates corrective actions), Prove (full audit trail with evidence-based closure), and Learn (pattern detection and continuous improvement from every closure).
Who is Intero built for?
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) teams in high-risk industries including oil and gas, manufacturing, construction, mining, and logistics. Intero is designed for safety managers, EHS directors, and operations leaders who need to move from reactive incident documentation to proactive safety intelligence.
How is Intero different from traditional EHS software?
Traditional EHS software digitizes paperwork, but you still fill out forms, manually investigate, and generate reports by hand. Intero replaces that entirely with AI that investigates, classifies, and learns. The AI is the primary interface, not a sidebar feature added to a legacy system.
AI & Safety
What is AI for workplace safety?
AI for workplace safety uses machine learning and natural language processing to automate incident reporting, investigate root causes, detect patterns across safety data, and predict risks before incidents occur. It transforms safety programs from reactive documentation systems into proactive intelligence platforms.
How does AI help EHS teams?
AI helps EHS teams by automating manual tasks like incident intake, investigation, and CAPA generation. It detects patterns humans miss, such as cross-site correlations and shift-based trends, and provides daily intelligence briefs that surface risks before they become incidents.
Can AI automate incident reporting?
Yes. With Intero, workers report incidents by typing naturally in plain language, or by attaching photos. The AI classifies the hazard type and severity, creates a structured record, and starts the investigation automatically. All of this happens from a single chat message.
What is safety intelligence software?
Safety intelligence software goes beyond recording incidents. It analyzes safety data to detect patterns, predict risks, and recommend preventive actions, turning reactive safety programs into proactive ones. Unlike traditional EHS systems that store data, safety intelligence platforms like Intero learn from that data.
Product Capabilities
What safety modules does Intero include?
Intero includes 7 dedicated safety modules: Incidents, BBS Observations, CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions), Hazards, Near Misses, Inspections, and Permits. Each module includes AI-powered analysis, file attachments, custom fields, full-text search, related record linking, and complete audit trails.
Does Intero support multilingual reporting?
Not yet, and we’re upfront about it. Today, capture is conversational: workers describe events in plain language, by text or photo. Voice-first, multilingual capture, so a worker can speak a report in their own language, is a near-term roadmap priority.
What is the morning intelligence brief?
An AI-generated daily summary delivered at 6 AM with overnight events, critical alerts, open hazards, due actions, active permits, and AI-detected patterns. It aggregates everything a safety leader needs to know into one actionable document, with zero manual work required.
How does the workflow builder work?
Intero’s visual workflow builder lets you design structured safety processes with a drag-and-drop interface. It supports 8 node types: Start, UI, Agent, Object, Condition, Transform, Tool, and End. Once designed, the AI executes each workflow step through guided conversations with rich UI widgets.
Security & Compliance
Is Intero secure?
Yes. Intero uses enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access control (RBAC), and complete audit trails for every action. SOC 2 Type II in progress. All data is processed securely with strict access controls.
Does Intero support OSHA compliance?
Yes. Intero tracks OSHA recordability for incidents, generates OSHA 300 Log exports in Excel format, and maintains full audit trails for regulatory compliance. The platform also supports jurisdiction-specific compliance frameworks beyond OSHA.
How does Intero handle AI governance?
All AI-generated content is clearly marked as DRAFT and requires human review before finalization. Full conversation history is retained for auditability. The AI explains its reasoning transparently, and the system learns from human corrections, building trust progressively.
Where is my data hosted?
Intero runs on AWS, with encryption at rest and in transit. Specific data-residency requirements are something we can discuss as part of an enterprise agreement, but we don’t promise a particular region as a shipped default today. SOC 2 Type II is in progress.
Pricing
How much does Intero cost?
Frontline capture seats — for anyone who just reports incidents or hazards — are free and unlimited. Investigator seats, for people who run investigations and manage CAPAs, are licensed annually in bands: Starter covers up to 3 seats ($1,500/yr), Team up to 10 ($4,000/yr). A one-time Launch Package ($500) gets you set up, trained, and live inside two weeks. Every plan starts with a demo. See intero.ai/pricing for full details.
Getting Started
How do I get started with Intero?
Book a demo. It’s a 20-minute founder demo on representative sample data. If it fits, the one-time Launch Package gets you set up, trained, and investigating your first real incident together, live inside two weeks. Running safety across multiple large sites and need SSO, integrations, or data residency? Say so on the call.
Can I start without talking to anyone?
Not right now. For now, every team starts with a short demo — anonymous signup is turned off. The demo is 15–20 minutes with the founder, run on representative sample data, not your real safety data.
How long does implementation take?
The Launch Package gets you live inside two weeks: setup, site and org configuration, a 90-minute remote team training, and your first real incident investigated together. Larger Enterprise rollouts (SSO, integrations, data migration) are scoped individually during onboarding.
What industries does Intero support?
Intero serves oil and gas, manufacturing, construction, mining and energy, and logistics industries. The AI skills are configurable per industry, adapting to each sector’s specific hazards, terminology, and regulatory standards.
